And so it begins...

I don't really have anything clever for my first blog post, so I guess I will just start by saying thank you for visiting!  This is where I sew.  Actually it is just a small snippet of my table due to some overwhelming "clutter" in the area.  More posts on my sewing space in the future.  My husband bought me this dream of a sewing machine early this year.  It is the Laura Ashley limited addition Brother NX-2000.  It has so many wonderful features I'll share in the upcoming times.  Quilting is definitely more enjoyable on this machine.

And since we all love pictures of WIP, here is a recent one.  I am finally making myself a Christmas quilt.  I say I am going to every year and then I have too many gifts going so I started this one early.  The rows are all sewn together waiting to be stitched in to the completed top.  But for now I have a few last minute gifts to make!

This is a value quilt.  The fabric is Moda Blitzen with a few scraps thrown in.  There are so many good tutorials around, but I was inspired by this one over at Sew Katie Did.  Check it out!  She gives a great explanation of how to organize your light, medium, and dark prints.  This one below is another example using zigzags, however I am going with the diamond arrangement for this quilt.
